Camels are used during the harvest time. They can carry and incredible load. They can easily compete with a medium size pick-up truck. Camels are also valued for their milk. It is regarded a delicacy drink by many in Egypt.


Camels are not the only livestock specie traded in the market. Donkeys, Cows, Water Buffaloes, Chickens, Ducks, Rabbits and many others are traded in the same market on the same day.

Palm fronds specially made boxes are the way to transport chicken. This bird is preferred by the ladies, they will seek it more than men. The livestock market is a mixed gender environment.
